Laredo is quite unlike any other city in Texas. We are one of the fastest growing border communities located in Webb County along the banks of the Rio Grande; about 150 miles southwest of San Antonio.

We can boast about our four international bridges which is why our city is commonly referred to as the “Gateway to Mexico.”

Trade in our city is done by land, rail, and air and results in billons of dollars in business with companies from over 60 different countries from all around the world.

Laredo has so much to be proud of but as Mayor of this town we need to address our concerns. As a border community, we must not only be concerned with our own population but that of our sister city, Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, as well.

In the trade industry, our city does have a global impact and we are proud of this achievement. However, there are other “global” issues that concern us all and our intent is to bring them to you through this interactive legislative CD.
