Support legislation that allows for municipalities to permit local option from the sales and use tax days.

There is an effort to increase the amount of days that allows exemption from the sales and use tax primarily for back to school purchases to include the month of December. The City of Laredo is concerned that an extension or addition of the sales and tax use holiday would create opportunities for the further erosion of its tax base in which cities rely more and more heavily on to provide the necessary services to its citizens.
